My Treatment Philosophy

I believe that true mental health care addresses not just symptoms, but the person as a whole.  Through an integrative and collaborative approach—utilizing a combination of medication, nutraceuticals, cognitive-behavioral therapies, and other integrative modalities—we can work together to uncover the root cause of your challenges, helping you reach your fullest potential in work, relationships, and life as a whole.

I work with individuals between the ages of 18 and 64, offering compassionate and inclusive care for a variety of mental health conditions, including:

Treatment Modalities

Being an integrative provider means that I offer several methods outside of just medication management and therapy to get you feeling better. Together, we’ll create a comprehensive plan that takes into account all factors of your mind, body, and spirit. Here are some of the treatment modalities I offer:

  • I provide evidence-based, neuroscience-backed medication management with an integrative approach. My goal is to prescribe and monitor medications that alleviate symptoms while aiming for the lowest effective dose to minimize side effects. In an integrative psychiatry model, medication is used thoughtfully, not as a sole solution but as one part of a broader treatment plan. I focus on finding the most effective medication regimen while also leveraging holistic methods to support overall well-being and potentially reduce the need for medication over time.

  • Medical weight loss involves a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. I incorporate individualized strategies, including nutritional counseling, lifestyle modifications, and, when appropriate, medications to support weight loss goals. My approach is tailored to each patient’s unique needs, considering factors such as metabolic health, hormonal balance, and overall well-being. By integrating medical insights with personalized support, I aim to help you achieve sustainable weight loss and improve your overall health, focusing on long-term success rather than quick fixes.

  • Supplements and nutraceuticals involve the use of natural compounds to support health and address specific concerns. I carefully select high-quality, evidence-based supplements tailored to your individual needs, considering factors like your health goals, existing conditions, and any potential interactions with medications. My approach integrates these supplements into your overall treatment plan to enhance therapeutic outcomes and support holistic wellness. By focusing on targeted, scientifically-backed supplements, I aim to optimize your health and well-being, complementing other treatment modalities for a comprehensive, personalized approach.

  • Nutrition counseling focuses on optimizing your diet to support mental and physical health. I work with you to identify and address dietary patterns that impact your well-being, offering personalized guidance to enhance your nutritional intake. By integrating evidence-based recommendations into your treatment plan, I help you make practical changes that support mental health and overall vitality. This tailored approach ensures that your nutritional habits align with your health goals and complement other aspects of your care.

  • Lifestyle coaching and habit formation emphasize the importance of daily habits—such as sleep hygiene, physical activity, and mindfulness techniques—in enhancing mental well-being. The best medication regimen in the world won’t help if your sleep, nutrition, or exercise habits aren’t serving your mental health. I assist you in making gradual, sustainable changes that positively impact your mental health and overall quality of life.

  • Lab testing plays a crucial role in providing a comprehensive understanding of your health. I utilize targeted lab tests to assess various biomarkers, including those related to mental health and overall well-being. This approach allows for a data-driven evaluation of your condition, enabling us to tailor your treatment plan more precisely. By identifying any underlying issues, we can adjust your treatment to address specific needs and support optimal mental health.

  • Pharmacogenomic testing evaluates how your genetic makeup affects your response to medications. By understanding your unique genetic profile, I can prescribe medications that are more likely to be effective and have fewer side effects. This personalized approach to medication management enhances treatment outcomes and minimizes trial-and-error with different medications. Incorporating pharmacogenomic testing ensures that your treatment plan is customized to your individual genetic profile, optimizing therapeutic efficacy and safety.

  • Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is used to address hormonal imbalances that can impact mental and physical health. I provide individualized HRT plans based on a thorough evaluation of your hormone levels and symptoms. By carefully monitoring and adjusting hormone levels, we can alleviate symptoms related to menopause, PMDD, or other hormonal changes, contributing to improved mental well-being and overall health. This personalized approach helps manage symptoms effectively while supporting your overall treatment goals.

  • In my practice, I offer a range of talk therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy, each serving different needs. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach focused on altering negative thought patterns and developing practical coping skills to manage emotions and behaviors. DBT combines CBT techniques with mindfulness strategies to enhance emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, particularly for those struggling with intense emotions. Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative approach designed to resolve ambivalence and enhance motivation for change, ideal for those facing challenges in making significant life changes. Psychodynamic Therapy delves into unconscious processes and past experiences to understand how they shape current behavior and emotions. Each of these therapies offers unique tools and strategies, but the essence of my approach is to listen deeply, understand your individual story, and provide concrete tools to help you break free from negative patterns and foster positive change.

  • Parenting a child who identifies as LGBTQ+ can present unique challenges and emotional hurdles, especially when expectations and realities diverge. My approach to parent coaching focuses on providing support and resources for parents navigating these complexities. I help parents address their fears and anxieties while fostering acceptance and adjustment to their child's identity. Through this process, I assist in building a strong support system and developing confidence in their role. By offering guidance and connecting families with appropriate resources and networks, I aim to empower parents to support their children effectively while also addressing their own concerns and enhancing their overall well-being.
